It’s been a little while since I’ve blogged.  No particular reason, we’ve just been busy living.  It’s not always easy to find time to sit at the computer, nor is it a priority when you have a busy toddler!  Who, by the way, is turning two years old in a week!  Yeah!  We’re having his party this coming Sunday.  A train theme.  The theme isn’t so much for him, because I don’t think he’d care one way or another, let alone that he’s having a party.  The theme is more for Gary.  Which is very sweet.  We’re not doing anything elaborate.  Thomas the Tank party favors and general party décor.  I did find a cute cupcake build-a-train set at Kitchen Kaboodle.  It is my plan to make his birthday cake every year.  If everything else is store bought, I want him to have a homemade cake, and not even a box cake.  I hope he has fond memories when he’s older.  It’s just my way of putting a little extra motherly love into it.

So other than that, we’ve been busy having summer fun.  We’ve had a trip to the coast to visit my mother, we’ve gone to the zoo with friends, we’ve had friends to the house, we’ve been to new parks around town, and basically spending as much time outside as possible.  Gary and I have also been working on the house.  Well, more Gary than me.  But I did paint the molding trim in the hallway and move a big pile of rocks for our retaining wall (which isn’t finished, so sad.)  We are painting the exterior of the house.
